Mustn't forget to attach alongside my musings the quotidian quote and poem!
Winds of May
by James Joyce (1882-1941)
Winds of May, that dance on the sea,
Dancing a ring-around in glee
From furrow to furrow, while overhead
The foam flies up to be garlanded,
In silvery arches spanning the air,
Saw you my true love anywhere?
Welladay! Welladay!
For the winds of May!
Love is unhappy when love is away!
Infuriated that I forgot the post this poem during the month of May.
Here's a quote from 'The Great Gatsby' that I like:
"In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I’ve been turning over in my mind ever since. 'Whenever you feel like criticizing any one...just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had.'"
- F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby, Ch. 1
Of course, the famous opening line.
